Connected Landscapes | 2017

Connected Landscapes
Brooch, May 2017.
Bamboo, Ebony, Sterling Silver, Eggshell, Fine Silver, Japanese Lacquer and Stainless Steel.
Total length: 62 mm x 22 mm diameter.

Acquisition Award
Selected Finalist for Contemporary Wearables ‘17 Biennial Jewellery Award and Exhibition
Toowoomba Regional Art Galleries
16 September - 5 November 2017

These interconnected objects which forms a wearable brooch are responses to cultural and geographic spaces about my personal identity through the exploration of materiality. The ideas explore the geographical spaces between my Australian and Asian connections and the in-between nature and cultures. The work is an ensemble of mixed graphic material elements representing past and current ideas. It intersects when it is worn on the body through a pin join method. Thus making it a brooch.
